This policy explains what information the mobile games published by Pocketgale ("Pocketgale", "we", "us"), the advertising partners inside them, and this website (pocketgale.com) collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to every Pocketgale game that links to it, including Island Escape.
- We have no player accounts, no logins and no game servers of our own. Your progress, coins and settings are stored only on your device.
- Our games show ads through Google AdMob, with Unity Ads competing to fill some of them. These partners collect device data such as the advertising ID to show, measure and protect ads.
- In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland we ask for your consent before ads are personalised. You can change your choice at any time in the game under Settings > Privacy options.
- Our games are not directed at children under 13.
- We never sell your information for money, and the games do not collect your name, email, contacts, photos or precise location.
1. Who we are
Pocketgale is an independent game studio and the controller of personal data processed through our games and this website. You can reach us at support@pocketgale.com.
Google and Unity decide how they use the data their software development kits (SDKs) collect in our games, and they act as independent controllers for that processing.
2. Information stored on your device
Our games save game data on your device only: for example your level progress and stars, coins and other in-game items, which tips you have seen, and your settings (sound, music, vibration, language). We do not receive this information. It is deleted when you clear the app's data or uninstall the game, and it is not backed up to us.
3. Information collected for advertising
Our games are free and paid for by ads: short videos you choose to watch for an in-game reward, and occasional full-screen ads between levels. To deliver them, the following SDKs collect information directly from your device:
| Partner | What it collects | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob and the Google User Messaging Platform (Google LLC / Google Ireland Ltd.) | Android advertising ID and app set ID, IP address (and an approximate location derived from it), device and app information (model, operating system, language, screen, app version), ad interactions (views, taps, rewards), diagnostic and performance data, and your consent choices | Serving ads, frequency capping, measuring ads, preventing fraud and abuse, personalising ads where you allow it, and storing your consent choice |
| Unity Ads (Unity Technologies), through AdMob mediation | Android advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, ad interactions, diagnostic data | Bidding for and serving ads, measuring ads, preventing fraud, personalising ads where you allow it |
Read how these partners handle data: Google Privacy Policy, How Google uses information from apps that use its services, Unity Game Player and App User Privacy Policy.
Ad requests from our games are limited to family-friendly ad content. If you see an ad that seems inappropriate, please tell us which game and roughly when, and we will block it.
4. Island Escape
Island Escape (Android) works as described above:
- Stored on your device: level progress, stars, gold, raft parts, tips seen, win streak and settings.
- Ad partners: Google AdMob (with the Google User Messaging Platform for consent) and Unity Ads through AdMob mediation. Rewarded videos play only when you tap a button marked with a video badge.
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDK, no accounts and no in-app purchases. Crash and freeze statistics that Android shares with developers come to us through the Google Play Console, without identifying you.
- Permissions: internet and network state (to load ads), vibration (for game feedback, which you can turn off in Settings) and the advertising ID permission (used by the ad SDKs). The game does not ask for your location, camera, microphone, contacts or files.
If we add a partner or a feature that changes this list, we will update this section before the update reaches you.
5. This website and email
This website has no user accounts, no advertising, no analytics, and sets no cookies. Our web host (Hostinger) records standard server logs when you visit: your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These logs are used only to keep the site running and secure, and are deleted automatically within a short period set by the host. Our fonts and images are served from our own domain, so visiting does not contact third parties.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use them only to answer you. We keep support emails for as long as needed to help you and for up to 24 months afterwards, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
6. Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
- Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)): personalised ads, and storing or reading information on your device for advertising where the ePrivacy rules require consent. We ask through Google's consent form, a Google-certified consent management platform that follows the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): showing non-personalised ads to keep our games free, frequency capping, ad measurement, preventing fraud, keeping this website secure, and answering your emails.
If you refuse or withdraw consent, you still see ads, but they are not personalised.
7. Your choices
- Privacy options in the game: Settings > Privacy options reopens the consent form so you can change or withdraw your choice at any time (shown where a consent form applies to you).
- Advertising ID: on Android, Settings > Privacy > Ads (or Settings > Google > Ads on some phones) lets you reset or delete your advertising ID. Once it is deleted, ad partners can no longer use it.
- US state privacy laws (such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and others): we do not sell personal information for money. Sharing device data with ad partners for personalised ads may count as "selling" or "sharing" under those laws. You can opt out through the game's privacy options where shown, by deleting your advertising ID, or by emailing us.
- Turning ads off entirely: playing offline stops ads from loading.
8. Children
Our games may be rated suitable for all ages, but they are not directed at children under 13 (or the higher age of digital consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. All ad requests are limited to family-friendly ad content. If we learn that a user is a child, ads for that user are requested as child-directed: not personalised and without the advertising ID, as COPPA and the GDPR require. If you believe a child has used one of our games and want data removed, email support@pocketgale.com and we will ask our ad partners to delete it.
9. Sharing
We share no personal information with anyone except as described in this policy (the ad partners, who collect it directly, and our hosting and email provider), when the law requires it, or if a game or our business is transferred to a new owner, who must then follow this policy. Ad partners may work with their own vendors and advertisers as explained in their policies.
10. International transfers
Google, Unity and our hosting provider may process data in the United States and other countries. They use safeguards approved under data protection law for these transfers, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
11. How long data is kept
Game data on your device stays until you clear the app's data or uninstall the game. Ad partners keep the data they collect for the periods set out in their own privacy policies. Website logs and support emails are kept as described in section 5.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, Brazil's LGPD or US state laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, to withdraw consent at any time, and to opt out of targeted advertising. Because we hold no game data on our own servers and cannot identify you from it, most requests are best made through the privacy options in the game, your device's advertising ID settings, or directly with Google and Unity using the links above. You can also email us and we will help within 30 days. See how to delete your data. You may complain to your local data protection authority.
13. Security
Our games and this website communicate over encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we only use established, widely reviewed SDKs and keep them up to date.
14. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, for example when adding a new partner, we will update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the game's update notes.
